Elinor Brent-Dyer's Copyright

In April 2006, Girls Gone By Publishers bought Elinor Brent-Dyer's copyright from Martina Rutherford. (Martina inherited the copyright from her mother, Chloe Rutherford, who inherited it from Phyllis and Sydney Matthewman to whom Elinor left it.) Martina approached GGBP about this in 2005 and it was a dream come true!

Our agreement with Martina covers the copyright in all EBD's works, whether published or not, except for those titles where Lutterworth Press hold the copyright (where we have a separate agreement with them for the rights).

We also took over the agreement which Martina had with HarperCollins with regard to the Chalet School books.
